I do believe the solution for this problem is deleting
the index files for your messages in the mail spool.
Make sure you back up your system first as my memory is
rusty, but I do believe this forces a rebuild of the
index if it is corrupt. Maybe someone else can chime
in on this as it has been a while since I have had
to do this.
