No early checkins. Net order is Daryl, Bob (NY), Rick, and whoever else shows up. Coming up on Sunday, Nov. 2, is the TIME CHANGE back to Standard Time. The time for this, and most other nets won't change, but UTC Times for the nets will be an hour later. You recover that hour of sleep you lost in the spring, but while it's lighter in the morning, it's dark by late afternoon. Forgetting to "fall back" means you are an hour early for church, work, appointments, ham radio nets, etc. Severe storms affected the region Saturday night, with an EF-1 tornado near Bismarck in southwest Arkansas. That brings the 2025 total of tornadoes to 60...our yearly average is around 35. More storms and possible severe weather are forecast late this week into the weekend. I finally used the SharkRF M1KE to check into some D-Star Nets, but I may have to request a token for AllStar Nets, even though I won't have a node, per se. Santa got me an early Christmas present. My guess is that he needed the coal for the cold winter forecast at the North Pole (hi hi). I tried to send a trains net certificate PDF file via RMS Express (WL2K), but it wouldn't let me do it. So, folks will have to provide a regular email if they want a certificate after their first checkin to that net. At the area Kroger (where I do my gardening (hi hi)), they have a new variety of 3 minute pizza...barbecue chicken...DELICIOUS!! Of course, a ham radio net would not be one without some talk of food, for H)ave A)nother M)eal...and one should not be a bad ham, and go to bed without supper (hi hi). Admittedly, on some of the pizzas I got, there is ham, so I'm being cannibalistic (hi hi). Still no end to the US Government Shutdown in sight, and the FCC is still closed on processing licenses. I hope this ends soon. GE Bob, how was your week?? >>> ** NS2B: GE All! Nothing new on the radio front. Still Hamwording, and made a couple contacts on Net105 (20m packet). Went down to the track and flagged my last event of the year. World Racing League, was supposed to be an 8 hour enduro. Was more like an 8 hour demolition derby! But it was good day, nonetheless. The only thing I hate about the time change is my dogs don't care. They still want to be fed at their time, which will be an hour earlier for me! You'll have to try all the modes on the M1KE! That's it for me. BTU Daryl >>> ** N5VLZ: Bob, the animals don't care about a lot of things...they are the rulers of the residence (hi hi). FB on the deal at the track, even though it was a demolition derby. FB on HamWord and 20m packet. I will be doing more with the M1KE... I'm told my audio is crisper. GE Rick..hope you had a good Thanksgiving last week. >>> ** VA7RBP: GE Daryl and all on NET. Yes, Thanksgiving was great. Our son-in-law cooked up a 22 lb bird, plus a couple of pumpkin pies, then we had another dinner at friends the next night (Monday). It'll take a while to work off. The rest of the week wasn't that great. I buggered my back up moving the summer tires from the car to the back porch... that took most of the week to resolve... it's still a bit tender. Yesterday, we got our COVID an FLU shots, so we're both sore, muscles, joints, headaches... I wasn't able to get to the shack for a couple of days (withdrawal). When I could, I did my usual 40M and 20M PACTOR, but mostly did a lot of reading and napping. That's the gist of my week. BTU Daryl >>> ** N5VLZ: Rick, FB on the Thanksgiving food, but bummer on the back injury. I keep pinching that left hip sciatic nerve, and getting left hip flexor tendonitis, which makes it hard to walk. I'll see my PCP next Wednesday, and will either get the flu shot there, or if I qualify, get a flu shot study at a local hospital. I'm not messing with the Covid shots anymore...I've had little energy since that 3rd booster. Understand on the napping...2 medications I take at lunch knock me out within 30 minutes. That's it for round 1...back to the top for final comments. Bob, thanks for the use of the BBS...hope you can get the node issue fixed soon...anything else?? >>> ** NS2B: Nothing more here - everyone have a good week - and yeah, i hope i figure it out - 73 >>> ** N5VLZ: Thanks for being here, Bob...keep me posted on the status. Rick, anything else?? >>> ** VA7RBP: Snow is starting to appear on the mountain tops and in the high mountain passes, glad I got the snow tires on last Tuesday. Well, I guess that's all I have for this week. Everyone have a great week, stay well, and 73 until next time. BTU Daryl >>> ** N5VLZ: Thanks for being here, Rick...hope your back gets better soon. That will do it for tonight's PCL Net. I'll get the scribe posted shortly, before I have to do another net. Have a good week, 73 and GN DE N5VLZ >>> Daryl Stout, N5VLZ, Little Rock, Arkansas Please see my QRZ bio for more information.
