The meeting agenda will be:
- Updates from the TPRFN system. Glenn N3MEL has a lot of updates to
share with the group in regards to mapping, gateway stations and
network performance.
- Use of the Outpost packet radio program over RF and how users can have
a GUI based program to check personal messages as well as being able to
pull bulletin traffic topics of individual interest. This will be covered
by Charles N2NOV and Glenn N3MEL.
The purpose of this portion of the conference call is to let node operators
and other interested parties learn how they can encourage use of the packet
system with something other than command line terminal windows. If we can
teach people how to set up a radio and TNC/Modem and allow their systems to
check for messages and other bulletins in the background at time intervals,
users can read the messages off line. Done properly this can appear to be an
always on type connection to the RF data networks.
I look forward to everyone on the call. All are welcome to participate.
Brian N2KGC - President EastNet
