Notice of an ELECTION FOR DIRECTORS
The Constitution of the WIRELESS INSTITUTE OF AUSTRALIA (WIA) in clause 14 specifies the way in which Directors of the WIA are to be elected to that position.
Three directors retire at the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting which will be held in May 2026, namely Lee Moyle VK3GK,
Steve Green VK2TSG and Chris Dimitrijevic VK3FY. Each retiring director is eligible for re-election.
A call for nominations for the position of Director of the WIA was made in November 2025, in the WIA National News Broadcast and in Amateur Radio Magazine
in accordance with the Election Regulations.
I advise that I have received four (4) valid nominations from WIA members for the position as director of the WIA by the advertised closing date
for nominations, as follows:
Chris Dimitrijevic VK3FY
Klaus Illhardt VK3IU
Lee Moyle VK3GK
Justin Giles-Clark VK7TW
As advised in the Call for Nominations there will be three (3) vacancies at the conclusion of the AGM to be held in May 2026 and therefore
election by ballot will be necessary.
This Election will be held by electronic ballot with an option for a postal vote as provided for in the WIA Election Regulations.
Members can elect to vote by postal ballot. An election to vote by postal will close on 24 December 2025.
Details of the election timetable and the Bio of the nominees will be sent to all members by email.
Details of Nominees will also be included with the postal voting papers sent to those members opting for a postal vote.
Details will also be published in January / February Edition of Amateur Radio Magazine.
The electronic ballot will commence on 1 February 2026 and will close on 28 February 2026.
The formal declaration of the election will be announced at the WIA Annual General Meeting to be held in May 2026.
